Over the past 90 days, Kaplan CFO Solutions has grown by 25%. Part of this internal growth was due to the hiring of Chief Financial Officer, Leah Singleton. Leah has more than 30 years’ of accounting experience, with more than 20 focused in a supervisory role. Most recently, she was the CFO of Mercy Urgent Care in Asheville, North Carolina.
Meet Leah Singleton, CPA

Leah’s roles in accounting and finance encompass much more than basic financial reporting, income tax compliance, and payroll activities. Leah has a proven track-record of evaluating new business ventures for organizations, negotiating medical insurance payer contracts, serving as lead banking liaison, and implementation experience in the creation and integrity assurance of internal control systems.
From Asheville to Portland, Oregon, Leah has extensive knowledge of municipality accountancy in addition to healthcare expertise. Her insight was earned through years of managing budgets in excess of $96 Million while serving organizations with multiple enterprise funds, apportioned throughout varying divisions. She is a Certified Public Accountant―registered in both North Carolina and Oregon―with a Master’s in Accounting.
Despite her heavy workload as a CFO, Leah continued to serve the community as well as her alma maters, aiding committees such as: the Accounting Advisory Board Committee for Western Carolina University, the Finance Committee of Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM), and Leadership Asheville at UNC Asheville.
Leah’s professional life is merely a fragment of her whole, unique person. Above all, she values her family, her friends, and her travel endeavors. She is a strong believer in living in the now: “You don’t choose the day you enter the world, and you don’t choose the day you leave. It’s what you do in between that makes all the difference.” (Quote by Anita Septimus)
